“I don’t drive on the freeway,” Cassady said. “Freeways scare the crap out of me.”
The Press Democrat: El Molino alum Skip Cassady remains a dedicated Lion
A self-proclaimed sports fan, the 51-year old was born three months premature and has cerebral palsy, played center on a flag football team as a kid and that started a love for sports which sees him as the man of all trades at El Molino (Calif.) High School.
The announcer for the school’s JV football and varsity baseball teams, also is the basketball scorekeeper and varsity football sideline spotter. He’ll transport himself, or take the bus when one of those pesky freeways is on the directions.
Cassady has been around sports since he was in fifth grade when he started doing basketball stats at Guerneville Elementary School.
