The following announcements are tied to sports that typically take place in school gymnasiums and should be used accordingly:

Volleyball:  “Watch out for flying volleyballs. During warm-up and during the match, volleyballs can leave the playing surface, at a high-rate of speed and from varying directions. Please remain alert at all times as [School/Facility] is not responsible for injury that may occur before or during tonight’s match. The [home team nickname] remind you to, watch out for flying volleyballs!”

“Fans with cameras are asked not to use flash photography at any time before or during tonight’s match.  Flashes may cause distraction, which may lead to injury.  We thank you for your cooperation.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, volleyball is fast-paced game and fans are asked to not enter or exit the seating area until there is a break in play, such as a side-out, time out or between sets.”

Basketball:  “Ladies and gentlemen, [school name] asks you to be courteous to your fellow fan and practice the ball in play rule.  When the ball is in play, please remain in your seats.  Should you need to exit to the concession stand, restroom, or for any other reason, please do so during stoppages in play, time outs, between quarters, or at half time.  Please allow all fans a clear view of game!  [School name] thanks you for your cooperation.”

“Fans are asked not to walk or project objects on to the playing surface at any time before or during tonight’s game.  Your safety, and the safety of the athletes are of great importance and we thank you for remaining off the floor and not throwing objects onto the floor at any time.”

Wrestling:  “Ladies and gentlemen, [school nickname] wrestling matches are a highlight event and some lights in the [gym name] may be turned off during the bouts.  Please keep this in mind when making your way to and from your seats.  Please take extra caution when making your way around [gym name].”
