Chicago White Sox, Chicago Black Hawks, Illinois Illini football.  That would be enough for one person to try to keep on their plate but for Gene Honda, he’s also been heard at the NCAA Final Four, Chicago Marathon, Big Ten Tournament and many other sports events.  This is why we’ve anointed Honda the “Announcing King of Chicago”.

We have no idea if Abe Frohman has an opinion on this, but pretty sure if he was seated next to legendary voice of the midwest, he’d recognize him right away.

Honda has been announcing professional sports in Chicago for over 30 years as he got his start with the White Sox at old Comiskey Park in 1985.  He’s seen World Series games, Stanley Cup champions, the pinnacle of college basketball and…a high jumping competition.  When you have the voice and you’re good, people find you and they’ve been lucky enough to find Honda over the years.
