Pete Aiello had been splitting the Oaklawn Park season with Larry Collmus will now be the full time voice of Gulfstream Park, leaving an opening at the Arkansas track.

Collmus cut back on his schedule which allowed for the opening at Gulfstream for the 30-year-old South Florida native Aiello to step in to cover the full calendar.  That would mean Oaklawn would be left without a voice, temporarily.

The decision to bring Aiello on full time was made a matter of days after Collmus’ decision went public and means Gulfstream will have an experienced voice for their championship meet coming up.

Oaklawn Park will begin the search for a new announcer and hopes to have a new voice in place by the end of August.  It’s the second time in a year the track has had to search for a new voice as they search for their sixth voice in track history.
