Sound & Video Creations, the company behind the audio playback software Click Effects, has been acquired by ChyronHego, a worldwide leader in broadcast graphics creation, playout, and real-time data visualization offering a wide variety of products and services for live television, news, sports, corporate and government video production, a release stated on July 7.

Click Effects is known as one of the “Big 3” in the audio playback software world along with Sound Director and Sports Sounds Pro.  All three programs offer users the ability to play back audio clips and are used at sports venues throughout the world.

The acquisition comes 21 months after the passing of Fran Kowalski, one of the founders and brains behind Click Effects.  Right now, there hasn’t been an announcement about how Click Effects factors into the acquisition, if it will continue to be supported, or how this will affect the Nashville-based Sound & Video Creations.
