Circuit Court Judge John Alexander helped to revive a championship holiday tournament that had been dormant for decades. Alongside his brother Tom, they brought back the Catholic Championship in 1999 where it ran for three seasons. A third attempt in 2013 has brought it back for good.
John not just the P. A. announcer, but also an adviser to the tournament committee while others celebrate him as something more than that.
“He is the driving force of the whole thing,” St. Joseph athletic director Matt Olesnevich said. “He helps with sponsorships, he gets everything moving. He’s been absolutely fantastic.”
